We shouldn't be belittled ourselves without believing our own possibilities and abilities before we try
to do something. Well, I just joint a basic first aid course and thinking to share it here so that most of
us somehow can have a brief idea. Who knows it might come in handy one day soon 😊
When we encounter a situation which we think is emergency, we should act wisely and rationally
without ignoring it.
A PERSON FAINTS AND BECOMES UNCONCIOUS??!
There are rules of saving ppl lives so that both you and the person who needs you are safe.
DR- CAB
D- Danger
Check for the surrounding before you start to do something. A first aider or if you want to be one have to be a good observant to notice and pick up important signs and symptoms including any potential or actual danger and problems so that you won't hurt yourself when you are trying to help someone, eventually becoming one of the victim...
R- Response
Now, try to get some response from the person. Tap on the shoulder and shout at him to getany response as sometimes people might just be too tired and fall in a really deep sleeppppp.😝
If the person shows you some response, ask him or her some basic question : name, age and location to identify him or her level of alertness.
If not, try to seek help from anyone beside to call for an ambulance. if not, dial the phone yourself and put it on speaker while you are helping the person.
C- Compression
Check for breathing and pulse. If both are absent, start CPR. The reason of starting CPR is to pump blood to the brain so that brain cells are not dead and caused permanent brain damage. The golden time is within 10 min before the person's brain damage becomes irreversible and permanent.
Find the position of compression.
💓
The standard method is to place your finger on the end of the rib cage of the person, slowly feels and moves the finger to the centre between left and right ribs. Place 2 fingers there, then another hands palm end beside the finger (near the heart). Another palm forms an interlock with the palm sitting on the right position.
Five rules of compressions:
1. Compress hard--Try to use the weight of your body not your arm strength
2. Compress fast-- about 100 beats per min??
3. Allow chest recoil
4. Minimal interruption-- don't stop no matter what unless paramedic arrives and ready to take over or you have tried your best and you're very very exhausted and no one can switch the place with you
5. 2 inches deep (for normal adult)
1 cycle is 30 compressions.
A-Airway
Lift the head and open the mouth. Hear and feel any breath.
B- Breathing
Give the person kiss of life
2 breaths
for every cycle
Do you know that once you started CPR, the person will have at least 30% of survival rate??!
and if you do it properly for all C,A,B, the survival rate is at least 43%!!
Try your best! If you know how or have been trained so, don't hesitate to help. And if you temporary don't but you want to help, start now learn some basic at least from internet or book first, then maybe you can join courses and then get yourself licensed
